While the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series was the main point of our drive, the first car we piloted was the much larger, even more powerful CL65 AMG. The car's 6.0-liter V12 makes 604 hp. These cars should come with cigars.
Since it's meant to commemorate AMG's 40th anniversary, there will be only 40 anniversary editions made with special "alubeam" paint, 20 of which are for North America. The good news: Mercedes AMG says it will build as many "regular" CL65s as demand warrants.
With its sport suspension and roll-reducing Active Body Control, this svelte beast easily represents the best control of the most mass on the market.
