Jun. 10--EDMOND -- Ninety days. That might seem like quite some time. After all, it's more than a week, than a month, than even two months. It's about one-fourth of a year. But it's nothing if you're a baby Chinese girl with a heart disease who has been placed for adoption.

Ninety days is it.

If an agency in the United States doesn't find you a family in 90 days, your file goes back to China and there's a chance you'll be considered "not adoptable" for the rest of your life.

That was the predicament of a child named LiSi.

Amy Eldridge of Edmond is a small woman, but it didn't take me long to realize that she possesses a very large, caring heart and hundreds of stories such of that of LiSi.
