Jun. 8--Northridge Middle School Principal Jamal Crawford will spend a week this summer at Harvard University as one of a group of school leaders selected to design more effective urban schools.
Crawford was picked from a pool of about 300 applicants for the National Institute for Urban School Leaders. The award includes a scholarship that pays all costs of the trip.
"This opportunity will be of great benefit to me, my staff and students," said Crawford, whose northeast Charlotte school has about 900 students. "I look forward to being a better leader."
