Jun. 8--Police shut down several streets in west Charlotte and put an elementary school on lockdown this morning after reports that a gunman fired shots at a police officer.
The incident happened about 9:30 a.m.
There are no reports of any officers being injured.
The area involved was off West 5th Street near North Bruns Avenue. Police are concentrating their activities on Flint Street, near Frazier Park.
Bruns Avenue Elementary School was put on lockdown during the search.
