This is a generic version of a script developed by coach teaff for a video prepared at the behest of the texas high school coaches association and sponsored by Dr Pepper. The video was sent to more than 1,000 head football coaches in texas for use at booster clubs, and other community group meetings. It has been viewed by an estimated audience 1,000,00 since august.

I am a product of high school football. I had the privilege of playing for two great coaches - Speedy Moffitt and Mule Kaiser - at Snyder, Texas. These two men inspired me to become a coach.

In my 37 years as a college football coach (at McMurry, Angelo State, and Baylor), I spent hours in front of a monitor looking at video of America's best high school players, and I never ceased to marvel at the technical expertise they exhibited.

The young men coming out of high school are well-coached and extremely strong in their fundamentals. They are all proud of their heritage and grateful for the opportunity to play this great game.

High school football enjoys great participation, not only by those on the field but by those in the stands - the Moms, the Dads, the business men, the boosters. Win or lose, they are there to support.

One of the greatest areas of participation comes from the student body: drill teams, cheerleaders, and those great high school bands marching up and down the field, or playing loudly in the stands.

Every weekend across the state, these scenes are reproduced in large towns and small cities. The spirit of participation engulfs and motivates.
