Jun. 6--Independence High cornerback Makiri Pugh committed to Georgia, after considering offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia.

Pugh, 6 feet and 194 pounds, had 54 tackles, nine assists, nine pass break-ups and two interceptions last season. He helped the Patriots extend their winning streak to 108, and win their seventh straight N.C. title.
