Blink, and you'll miss the revised 2008 Jaguar XJ sedan - unless it's blitzing toward your rearview mirror in the left lane of the interstate. And that's how Jaguar wants it. A blingy bumper with a chrome-dripping grille crowned by a humongous "growler'' cat badge-those are the visual cues that say Jaguar's flagship is revised for 2008.
There's a new XK-style gill on the front, and inside are new front seats, now available with optional air cooling, an improvement that brings Jaguar into line with the German competition.
Otherwise, this is the same lithe Jag XJ that puts its V8 power to great effect thanks to aerospace-style aluminum construction and a sensitively tuned air-sprung chassis.
The range-topping XJR still goes like a scalded cat up a drainpipe when the supercharged, 400-hp V8 is given its head yet returns to a wafting, relaxed style of driving when the going doesn't need to be so frantic.
