May 31--Iredell-Statesville Schools' superintendent wants to consider partnering with the Mooresville Graded School District on a high school that could serve students in southern Iredell County.
Rather than build a sixth I-SS high school, I-SS Superintendent Terry Holliday said at a budget workshop Tuesday, a partnership could save the county money.
It would cost roughly $45 million to construct a new high school. But renovating an existing building would cost about $23 million while putting off the need for a new high school to 2013, I-SS school officials said.
