As an increasing number of war vets around the world are diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), some military establishments are questioning the validity of patient claims, given that they often result in financial settlements. In Israel, mental-health experts estimate that more than 3,000 vets suffer from some form of the disorder. Meanwhile, Israeli Defense officials have admitted to hiring private investigators to conduct surveillance on former soldiers to find out whether they are faking.
