Six Arizona businesses are on the Inc. magazine list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the nation.

Spectrum Astro at No. 19 is the highest ranking Arizona company on the list. The Gilbert-based company posted 1993 sales of $17.3 million, an 8,048 percent increase from 1989. Sales for 1994 are expected to stay flat, says W. Dave Thompson, Spectrum Astro president.

Another Arizona company on the list is Phoenix-based PID Inc. The No. 342 company on the list, PID posted 1993 sales of $3.4 million, a 756 percent increase from 1989.
