May 21--It's a sign of these expensive times in horse racing that Curlin and Street Sense are unlikely to resume their rivalry in the third jewel of the Triple Crown.

After their gripping 1-2 finish in the Preakness Stakes on Saturday -- separated at the wire by a long nose -- the horses have a victory apiece, and everybody would love to see the rubber match at the Belmont.

Everybody except the people who will make the decision. Street Sense's trainer -- Carl Nafzger, 65 -- might be as old school as they come, but he reflected the conventional wisdom when he was asked if he planned to take his Derby champion and Preakness…
