May 18--PAYNE SPRINGS, Texas -- A man shot and killed two Henderson County sheriff's deputies and wounded another Thursday afternoon, hours after the deputies participated in a memorial to honor peace officers slain in the line of duty, authorities said.

The deputies -- two in uniform and the other in plainclothes -- were responding to a domestic disturbance call in this East Texas town when they were shot with a high-powered rifle, sheriff's Lt. Pat McWilliams said. The slain officers were identified as Deputy Tony Price Ogburn, 61, of Log Cabin, and plainclothes investigator Paul Steven Habelt, 63, who was from the Eustace area. The…
