Graphic Controls Corp., a Buffalo industrial and disposable medical products company, has agreed in a letter of intent to be purchased by Tyco International Ltd.
If consummated as planned in early 1995, the deal would make Graphic Controls part of a growing global corporate empire based in Exeter, N.H.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Tyco manufactures, installs and distributes products and systems for a broad spectrum of markets, including disposable medical products and recording chart paper for medical and industrial instrumentation.
In some products and areas of business Tyco and Graphic Controls are competitors. In others, such as a fetal monitoring sensor, Graphic Controls brings a new product line to Tyco.
The two companies are markedly different in size.
