May 15--Central Florida youngsters could attend free classes this summer designed to get them ready for kindergarten in August.
So far, though, not many parents seem interested.
Local officials have tried to get the word out through advertisements, postcards mailed to youngsters' houses and fliers sent home with elementary-school students. They hope enrollment picks up before classes start in late May and early June.
They think children who have never attended preschool would be better prepared for kindergarten in August if they went to summer pre-K.
