As the saying goes, predictions are hard to get right, especially when they're about the future. But the trustees of Social Security have established a pretty good track record of getting the program's future condition roughly right. As a result, their predictions do not change much from year to year, and all that is new in this year's report is that our day of reckoning is closer to hand than it was a year ago.
