Different Porsche takes
The Porsche Panamera (cover story, April 16) will be amazing, but to me the mystique and desire for a Porsche are diminishing. It used to be that a sports car from Stuttgart was something you longed to drive. It's becoming another name that sells more for the status than for the experience. Too bad Porsche couldn't have reached for the loyal masses with a modern-day $25,000 914/Miata/Solstice-class car and made its fortune in volume, parts and accessories.
