May 8--Reno County is under a disaster declaration this morning as flooding threatens numerous communities, officials said.
"We're trying to do rescues, all up and down the Arkansas River," Reno County Emergency Management Director Bill Guy said.
Yoder Road is closed between K-96 and U.S. 50 by floodwaters, Guy said, and Haven Road north of Haven is also threatened by the rising waters.
Guy said South Haven is also threatened by high water.
Schools in Nickerson are closed because of the high water, he said.
