May 8--Here's a school lockdown story that turned out to be less frightening than it first seemed.

Officials at Albemarle Road Elementary and Albemarle Road Middle schools put their facilities on lockdown Monday afternoon, after several people reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at the east Charlotte schools.

The two schools are on adjacent property.

But the lockdown was lifted a short time later, when authorities…
