May 6--Developers of a 1,500-home community in Sherrills Ford plan road improvements, with some scheduled to start this summer.
MAG Land Development's 700-acre Key Harbor subdivision off Island Point, Azalea and Raccoon Track roads is expected to generate about 15,000 daily vehicle trips when it's completed in 10 to 20 years. The off-site road improvements were part of the development agreement with Catawba County.
Work is slated to start in June on road improvements at Sherrills Ford Elementary on Sherrills Ford Road.
Plans include expanding the drop-off and pickup lanes and creating more space for bus parking. The…
