When Bloc Party's anticipated second album A Weekend In The City leaked online last November, V2's first response was to try and handle the problem internally.
As tracks started appearing on more and more websites, the label realised that managing the situation was like trying to get the metaphorical toothpaste back into the tube.
V2 head of new media Beth Appleton says, "We don't have huge budgets for dealing with things like leaks, so we tend to work very much hand to mouth to see if we can manage things ourselves. But because it was such a key release for us we needed to have a provision in place.
"We needed a company who could respond really quickly to our needs and get going straight away, which Web Sheriff did. It worked really well for us, especially over that Christmas and New Year period when we needed to know that somebody was on the case."
