Managers can cut WAN connection costs by running legacy-based Systems Network Architecture (SNA) traffic and PC LAN traffic over a single frame-relay network with a hardware/software combination from Sync Research Inc.

Sync this month will ship a software upgrade to its FrameNode frame-relay access device that ties legacy SNA traffic and LAN transmission traffic across the same frame-relay wire.

Prior to the release of FrameNode, Release 2.0, the access device just supported SNA traffic.

The upgrade software is available in three options:

LANrelay, priced at $1,000, connects end-user LAN applications from NetBIOS, Internet Protocol, and IPX networks …
