Apr. 29--Beginning in August, Hickory High School students will have the option of taking one of the most demanding pre-college programs in the world: International Baccalaureate.
In winning approval earlier this month to offer IB to its juniors and seniors, Hickory High became one of only 24 high schools in the state -- and the only N.C. school west of Charlotte -- to offer the program.
Hickory Day School, a private school in northeast Hickory, offers IB for the elementary and middle grades.
