Apr. 26--Lincoln County lost two young teens in separate accidents this week, leaving students from two high schools grieving over both classmates.
"I think our students are friends all across the county," said Tony Worley, principal of Lincolnton High. "There are rivalries, but I think there's a friendship between all students at the four high schools."
When Worley announced Tuesday that freshman Diego Alfaro had died, he also told his students about Nathan Schroeter, a West Lincoln High freshman who died over the weekend.
Several students from the two schools knew both teens.
