The COI has cautioned media buying agencies against misappropriating the discounts it gets from media owners and passing them on to their other clients.

The COI has written to its entire roster of recruitment advertising agencies to remind them of the rules.

COI discounts are negotiated reduced rates, given to agencies making bookings on behalf of government departments and bodies placing job ads via the COI. However, some agencies have been using the discounts on non-COI clients.
