Apr. 23--For most All-Metro players of the year, if not all, the love for the game starts early.

The same can be said for Ed Davis and Brandon Rozzell, who share the Times-Dispatch player of the year trophy, the first males to do so.

That's not the only thing they shared.

"We played as 10-year-olds together in AAU," said Davis, a Benedictine junior who shared a court with Rozzell playing for the Richmond Metro Gold.

"Both of us," said Highland Springs' Rozzell, "were just falling in love with the game. It's crazy looking back at it."
