Lewis Hamilton (see page 46) again demonstrated his star quality, with a second-place finish in the Malaysian Grand Prix, rounding off a McLaren-Mercedes 1-2 behind teammate Fernando Alonso.

Three weeks after Hamilton began his Formula One career with third place in Australia ("Don't Look Back,'' AW, March 26), he became the first driver to score points in his first two F1 races since Peter Arundell-teammate to the legendary Jim Clark-did so for Lotus in 1964. Hamilton pushed impressively hard from the start of the torrid race, vaulting from fourth on the grid to second by the time he cleared the first couple of corners on lap one.
