Apr. 15--An essay written by a Beverly Woods Elementary School fifth-grader and her mother has put the school in the running for a $300,000 playground in a nationwide contest. Gretchen Payne and her daughter, Sydney, 10, submitted their essay last November to the Playskool Win A Boundless Playground Essay Contest. The event is sponsored by Hasbro/Playskool and GameTime, producers of children's play equipment.
