Aiming at the user who has accumulated piles of data and doesn't know what to do with it all, two vendors are launching new tools this week designed to help spot and analyze data trends.

BrioQuery, from Brio Technology Inc., and The Information Discovery System (IDIS), from IntelligenceWare Inc., can both query and analyze databases to find patterns and correlations in sales and marketing data, such as consumer spending habits and projected sales growth.

BrioQuery, to be released this week, is a desktop query, analysis, and reporting tool for Windows and Macintosh users.
