Apr. 11--Seven students today were honored for their leadership, spirit and ability to overcome challenges at the fourth annual Children's Scholarship Fund of Omaha luncheon. The Children's Scholarship Fund provides partial tuition assistance for low-income families to send their children to private or parochial schools. Since 1999, Omaha's chapter has granted more than $9.4 million in scholarships. In the 2006-2007 school year, the fund helped more than 1,800 children attend 81 private and parochial schools in Omaha and surrounding rural communities.
