Apr. 10--Vietnam is a growing market for U.S. agriculture, and Missouri producers are helping feed the demand.

In fact, Missouri agriculture officials Monday said they were looking forward to a good year of trade this year with the southeast Asian country. Missouri companies in coming months will be shipping $2 million worth of agricultural goods to Vietnam.

"Vietnam's growing manufacturing base is an ever-increasing market for products such as Missouri-grown cotton and Missouri hardwood logs and lumber," said Tony Stafford, division director of the department's Agriculture Business Development division.
