Apr. 10--A Coarsegold man filed a lawsuit Monday charging that the Madera County Board of Supervisors violated the state's open meeting law when it gave the city of Madera $3.2 million for an overpass project.
The lawsuit Dale Drozen filed in Madera County Superior Court seeks to have the board's Feb. 27 vote overturned. The suit accuses the board of violating the state's Ralph M. Brown Act when it voted to hand over Measure A sales tax money for the city's Ellis Street overpass project across Highway 99 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
