DALY exits the booth
Driver-turned-broadcaster Derek Daly, partnered with TV anchor Rick Benjamin for Champ Car domestic TV broadcasts in 2006, has been replaced by ex-driver Jon Beekhuis (above left, with Nelson Philippe), who handled pit road last year. But since NBC has the first two races this season, it is bringing in its own underutilized NASCAR crew, anchored by Bill Weber and Wally Dallenbach Jr., with Beekhuis providing Champ Car knowledge. In the pits for NBC are Marty Snider, Bill Stephens, Cameron Steele.
