The car world salivated last fall when Mercedes-Benz unveiled the CL63 at the Paris motor show ("German Muscle,'' AW, Oct. 16, 2006). The tuned CL was at the time the latest AMG creation and the seventh car (after ML, CLK, E, CLS, R and S) to use the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, the standard form of AMG motivation. That engine cranks out 518 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, enough for a 0-to-62-mph run in just 4.6 seconds.
