Apr. 4--Kaysi Sullivent, 17 and a junior at Owasso High School, accompanied a few friends to the movie theater last summer. The outing was to be a night when everyone would hang out, have fun and be cool -- an ordinary movie going experience. And it was, for the most part, until the film adventure crossed the line. At the theater, one of Sullivent's friends offered her alcohol mixed with a power drink.
Sullivent, aware of what she was about to drink, accepted. "I only took a sip," she said. Sullivent doesn't plan to drink again until she's over the age of 21. April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and 10.4 million Americans between the ages of 12 and 20 had at least one drink last month, according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
