Apr. 3--A third party should be responsible for recovering any stolen property and protecting any remaining assets at the now-closed Harte Crossroads charter schools, the Ohio attorney general said yesterday.
Attorney General Marc Dann, the Ohio Department of Education and the schools' sponsor asked Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Julie M. Lynch to appoint a receiver yesterday.
She didn't do so but did issue a temporary restraining order.
It's one of few times, if any, an Ohio attorney general has stepped in to preserve a charter school's assets, said Dann spokeswoman Michelle Gatchell.
