Honors come to Utica district: 7 elementary schools earn Blue Ribbon Exemplary award.

Apr. 1--Seven elementary schools in the Utica Community Schools district will be honored through the end of April after earning designations as Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary schools for the 2006-07 school year.

Celebrations have already been held at West Utica in Shelby Township, Flickinger in Utica and Schwarzkoff in Sterling Heights. Others will be at Schuchard, DeKeyser and Harvey in Sterling Heights and Crissman in Shelby Township. Utica Community Schools received more designations than any other Michigan school district this year and now has 21 -- or more than half its schools -- that have earned a Michigan Blue Ribbon …
