China focus
CHINA has been a key focus for the Haven Gateway Partnership, whose members are drawn from the ports, ship-ping and logistics sector and local authorities in the sub-region.
HGP project manager Richard Morton took part in two logistics seminars organised in China towards the end of last year.
Entitled 'Felixstowe and Beyond', they were set up by East of England International, the inward investment arm of the East of England Development Agency.
Held in Shanghai and Shenzhen, the seminars were organised to promote the Haven Gateway as a place to do business
'They were an ideal opportunity to explain on behalf of the partnership why the sub-region's ports and hinterland add up to such a natural logistics platform for Chinese imports into Britain and also mainland Europe,' says Mr Morton.
