(From Lloyds List)
Wincanton, the UK-based European logistics company, has teamed up with Hong Kong's Kerry Logistics to offer customers seamless logistics services between Europe and Asia, especially China, writes Keith Wallis in Hong Kong .
The deal will make it easier for firms with operations in both Europe and Asia to use the Wincanton-Kerry Logistics network to ship products between the two regions.
The two firms aim to provide a single logistics relationship for companies operating in both regions, especially in the retail, consumer goods and automotive sectors where both companies are already well established.
Martin Taylor, managing director of Wincanton's retail division, said: 'Joining forces with Kerry Logistics gives our customers the opportunity to engage with us earlier in their supply chains.'
Kerry Logistics joint managing director Vincent Wong added: 'The new joint venture will allow both Wincanton and Kerry to meet the ever increasing demand for supply chain management both in Europe and Asia.'
Wincanton added Hong Kong-based box line, Orient Overseas Container Line, and Jacuzzi, to its list of customers last year.
