STEPHEN Ladyman, Minister of State for Transport, has instructed his officials to investigate the possibility of a lorry parking area in Kent that can be combined as a centre where the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency can check trucks for road worthiness.
Thecombined scheme has the backing of Gwyn Prosser MP for Dover, a former ferry engineering officer whose constituency is next door to Dr Ladyman's at Thanet.
