MCLAREN'S Lewis Hamilton clocked the fastest time but blew an engine on the third day of the Formula 1 official test at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) yesterday.

The first black driver in F1 history, Hamilton, 22, topped the morning session in 1:36.420 seconds, beating nine other drivers at the 5.44km circuit.

Hamilton timed 1:36.115 seconds on Wednesday, after taking over from Pedro De La Rosa.

However, his best time yesterday still could not match Ferrari driver Kimi Raikonnen's 1:35.258 seconds set on Wednesday.
