The Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Madame Truong My Hoa, and delegates toured Kampong Ayer, the water village in the Brunei River, in the capital yesterday.

The tour to the country's old centre of arts and crafts started from the Old Custom Wharf, where they took a boat and headed to Kampong Sungai Kedayan, and Sungai Tamoi, where traditional food covers are made.

The boat turned back to Jong Batu, a natural rock formation of an upturned boat, toured Kampong Burung Pingai, where people wove gold brocade cloth (jong sarat), Kampong Peramu, Kampong Saba, where boatmakers build long boats (perahu), and …
