IRVINE, Calif. -- A grower of green onions that supplied TACO BELL has sued the YUM! BRANDS INC. division, alleging it knowingly misidentified scallions as the suspected source of E. coli infections contracted by customers late last year. The grower contends that green onions continued to be implicated by Taco Bell after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had cleared them of responsibility.
