Section: Government and Politics - State revenues in March could fall short of fiscal targets for the first time this fiscal year in a worrisome confirmation of the slowdown of the economy, according to Suparut Kawatkul, permanent-secretary of the Finance Ministry, the Bangkok Post reports.
Mr Suparut said lower revenues in March would cause revenues for the first half of fiscal 2007 to fall short of target.
For the first five months ending in February, state revenues exceeded targets by just 0.8%. Revenues in February, however, exceeded targets by just 0.1%.
