Mar. 27--The use of cellphones for on-the-go banking is taking another step toward reality in the U.S. market.
AT&T's wireless unit and a payment services company called Firethorn -- both of which are based in Atlanta -- were expected to announce today that the companies have reached mobile banking deals with three sizable partners: Wachovia, SunTrust Banks and Regions Financial.
Signing such prominent banks is a key step for AT&T and Firethorn.
