NEW YORK - Sears, Roebuck and Co. is ready to ramp up its private-label footwear program.
Since the formation of Sears Holdings Corp. in 2005, both the Sears and Kmart divisions of the company have been focused on re-energizing their private-label offerings. To that end, in May 2005 a design studio was established in New York's Soho neighborhood.
Although apparel has, so far, been the main focus of those efforts for the Sears division, the retailer is now setting its sights on footwear.
