Mar. 21--SANFORD -- The historic Midway neighborhood is getting a new elementary school. The Seminole County School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved building a 110,000-square-foot fine-arts magnet school that will be able to house nearly twice as many students -- about 800 -- as the current, aging Midway Elementary. The area is exploding with development that is expected to bring 1,000 more homes in the next few years. The school, which will cost about $15 million, will have bells and whistles, said Emanuel Hillery, a spokesman for the community of about 600.
