E-infrastructure omission threatens UK's R&D effort

The UK's science research community will be overtaken by global competitors unless the e-infrastructure supporting science and innovation is improved, according to a government report
The report, from the e-infrastructure working group of the Office of Science and Innovation, which is part of the DTI, also argues that content should be part of e-infrastructure.
The working group is made up of senior representatives from the research councils, JISC, the Research Information Network and the British Library. Its report sets out the requirements for a national e-infrastructure.
