The British High Commissioner to South Africa, Hon. Paul Boateng has called on civil society groups in the country not to over rely on foreign donations for their activities.

He said relying on donor support is fertile ground for foreign organizations to have influence on the decisions they make although it may sometimes not be in the public interest.

He therefore urged civil society groups in the country to ensure that they get the right scale to balance their reliance on foreign donors as well as their objectives.
