The upset ouster of Pakistan from the Cricket World Cup-2007 has stunned the advertising industry that had invested huge sums in the event expecting handsome returns. Most Pakistanis have a passionate and emotional bond with cricket and the sport receives massive media exposure in a nation of 160 million people.

"Pakistan's exit means a big loss of revenue for all those who have invested in the World Cup. With Pakistan now out, interest in the tournament will fall dramatically translating into losses to everyone," said marketing head of country's largest media group.
