The National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) yesterday invited potential venture partners to apply for oil and gas exploration licenses.

Prospectors in Kenya have drilled about 39 deep wells without finding oil or gas in quantities sufficient enough for commercial production.

"We are interested in receiving expressions of interest from reputable international and national oil companies to joint venture in applying for petroleum exploration blocks in Kenya's rudimentary basins," the state-owned company said yesterday in an advertisement.
